What is the express advanced resuscitation course?
The express advanced resuscitation course is a fast-track refresher option for HLTAID015 Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy. Rather than completing full face-to-face training, participants complete the learning content and knowledge assessment online, followed by a short 1.5-hour face-to-face practical skills assessment. It is designed for those who already hold the qualification and need to renew their certificate efficiently.
Who is the express advanced resuscitation course suitable for?
The express advanced resuscitation course is suited to healthcare workers, workplace first aid officers, and other professionals who currently hold or have recently held an HLTAID015 certificate and need to renew. What is the difference between the express advanced resuscitation course and the standard advanced resuscitation course?
The standard advanced resuscitation course includes full face-to-face training and assessment, with a minimum of 3.5 hours contact time for the online delivery option or 6 hours for the fully face-to-face option. The express advanced resuscitation course is assessment-only — all theory is completed online and the face-to-face component is just 1.5 hours, making it a much quicker option for those renewing an existing qualification.

Yes. Participants must hold a current HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificate before enrolling in the express advanced resuscitation course. Please note that the older HLTAID003 Provide First Aid qualification is not considered equivalent and cannot be used as a substitute. It is also strongly recommended that participants hold a current HLTAID015 certificate, as the express format assumes existing knowledge and provides no training — only assessment.
