Entry Requirements Participants must be able to meet the physical demands of providing CPR, including performing CPR on the floor, applying both breaths and compressions.

Also be capable of working with a partner in on/off-floor scenarios.

Participants must possess functional written and spoken English skills to make accurate verbal reports in class, replicating the process of reporting to emergency services and workplace supervisors.

Online Study (If Applicable): Students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet, or other electronic devices with a current browser and internet access.

Responsibilities Include:

Arrive at least 10 minutes before the course.

First Aid Course Delivery

This course can be delivered/assessed in the workplace or at facility organised by the training provider.

+ Course Durations

Course durations can vary for multiple reasons, so the durations below are the minimum possible amount.

  • Online with face-to-face assessment (with pre-course online study + in-class electronic assessment) face to face contact time of at least 6 Hours

    • If you are familiar with using computers and online training and assessment. Select this “Online with face to face assessment” course

  • Face-to-Face Face to Face contact time of at least 12 Hours (2 days)

    • If you are unfamiliar with using computers and online training and assessment. Select this “face to face” course.

    • The theory + First Aid Incident Report is delivered face to face (multiple choice delivered verbally, with the learner marking answer in writing), during the course. Hence if learners would have difficulty completing a pre-course on-line assessment, or who’s learning style is more kinaesthetic or practical focused, this modality better suits these learners, and is the preferred modality when we deliver training on community.

Participants will need the ability to meet the physical demands of providing CPR, you must perform CPR on the floor, applying both breaths and compressions, as well as working with a partner with on/off-floor scenario's.  Participants must possess functional written and spoken English skills to make accurate verbal reports in-class, to replicate reporting to emergency services and workplace supervisor

Online study (if applicable):  Students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet or other electronic devices with a current browser, as well as access to the internet and skills sufficient to follow a video learning program, to complete the on-line pre-course work, as well as assessments in-class.

Please note that enrolment to this course is made with Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909. + Assessment Activities

Performance tasks and practical scenarios:

  • Perform CPR on an adult (incl. the use of an AED and placing a casualty into the recovery position)

  • Perform CPR on an infant

    • CPR assessment requires candidates to perform at least two (2) minutes of single rescuer uninterrupted CPR on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor and an infant resuscitation manikin placed on a firm surface.  In a scenario, participants will also work in a small team to demonstrate a rotation of operators with minimal interruptions to compression's, while applying an AED during an emergency CPR scenario, on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor.  In a scenario, participants will also manage an unconscious casualty including appropriate positioning to reduce the risk of airway compromise, manually assess vital signs, and provide an accurate verbal report of the incident.

  • Complete a first aid incident report form based on the simulated first aid scenario

  • Manage a casualty with anaphylaxis

  • Manage a casualty with asthma

  • Manage a choking casualty

  • Manage a casualty with non-life-threatening bleeding and shock, requiring minor wound cleaning

  • Manage a casualty with a nosebleed

  • Manage a casualty with a fracture and dislocation

  • Manage a casualty with a sprain and strain

  • Manage a casualty with envenomation (snake/ funnel-web spider bite)

2. What are the specific logistics for training in the Lands?

To deliver HLTAID011 Provide First Aid in Ngaanyatjarra communities (like Warburton or Jameson), Redpath Education requires the following from the host:

  • Climate Control: A secure, air-conditioned room is mandatory to protect clinical equipment from desert heat.
  • Practical Space: A clear floor area of at least 3m² per learner for CPR and trauma scenarios.

3. Are there physical requirements for the First Aid Course assessment?

Yes. To receive your HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificate, you must perform 2 minutes of continuous CPR on a manikin placed on the floor. This is a non-negotiable national requirement. If you have a physical injury, please contact us before the trainer travels to the community.

4. What should participants bring to class?

  • Smartphone: Needed for the digital assessment and scanning attendance QR codes.
  • Modest Clothing: You will be kneeling and rolling on the floor. Wear trousers or long shorts and comfortable, closed-toe shoes.
